JACKSON, Wyo. (CSU) —A woman was found dead in Wyoming. News of this helped searchers finds a man’s body nearby.
According to a Teton County Find & Rescue statement, a search dog worked with a team for four hours Tuesday before finding the corpse of a male matching Robert “Bob” Lowery’s description. Lowery, a 46-year-old man from Houston, vanished on Aug. 20. body of the man was discovered on a steep, wooded slope in western Wyoming’s Teton Pass region.
The circumstances of the man’s death were unclear. While authorities waited for confirmation that the body was Lowery’s, they informed his family. Gabby Petito went missing on a cross-country trip. Her body was found nearly Grand Teton National Park. When the news talked about it, they also mentioned Lowery’s disappearance. Two people called authorities with information about Lowery because of this.
The man in the black baseball cap with the gold letter “P” was spotted in the hotel camera images bring a black duffel bag with Nike on it. The searchers found him far off the trail near a popular canyon. Tent and sleeping bag were in the backpack, according to Leigh Lowery, Leigh’s sister.
His sister remembered him as “just a wonderful, lovely kid.”

The man’s body was found in a canyon 45 miles from where Petito was. Her parents reported her missing on Sept. 11, after she didn’t respond to calls and texts while she and her boyfriend were visiting national parks. Petito died from being killed by another person. The medical examiner in Wyoming has not said how she died yet.
In Wyoming, Laundrie is facing federal charges of unauthorized use of a debit card. While Petito was missing, he made more than $1,000 in unauthorized withdrawals or transactions using a Capital One Bankcard and someone else’s personal identification number, according to authorities. Officials have not identified the card Laundry is accused of using fraudulently. Authorities are seeking the services of laundry as a person of interest in Petito’s case.
