LOUISVILLE, Ky.: What appears to be the vehicle sought in connection with a bus stop shooting that shocked Louisville Wednesday morning was discovered by police. Barry Wilkerson, the head of the St. Matthews Police Department, stated that the car was discovered on fire at a St. Matthews apartment complex around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to the report, the officers who found the car were able to put out the fire on their own. After running the vehicle’s tags, they discovered it was stolen.
The car was taken to a police impound lot, where it sat until the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) took custody. There have been no arrests, according to Wilkerson.
In connection with a drive-by shooting at a west Louisville bus stop last week, LMPD said they were seeking a gray Jeep on Wednesday. Family members later identified him as 16-year-old Tyree Smith.
A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were shot, as well. All three pupils were students at Eastern High School in Chicago.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police is in charge of the case, and they are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI on it. On Wednesday, Police Chief Erika Shields said that residents have contacted the authorities and offered information, asking anyone who has the knowledge to come forward.
