Comedian and actor, Chris Rock has been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to his representative.

“Guys, I just found out I have COVID. You don’t want this,” Rock tweeted Sunday. “Get vaccinated.” The Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine has already been given to Todd, 56, who told Jimmy Fallon in May that he’d gotten it. His representatives were not at once available for comment.

On Friday, a key federal advisory committee advised giving a third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine six months after full immunization for people aged 65 and older and those at high risk of severe COVID-19. Following Rock’s statement, several other celebrities took to social media to express their support. LeVar Burton, Bob Odenkirk, and Larry Wilmore were among them. On Sunday, April 20th, Chris Rock made a surprise appearance at the “NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration,” a benefit organized by several prominent comedians for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Attendees needed to show proof of vaccination.

With the exception of Bill, who was not on the lineup, Rock made an appearance together with his buddy Dave Chappelle. Other comics in attendance included Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Michael Che, Ronny Chieng, Pete Davidson, Jimmy Fallon, Colin Jost, John Mulaney, Jay Pharoah, Amy Schumer, Tom Seg. In January, Rock said he “can’t wait” to get vaccinated against COVID when asked by Gayle King if he would be vaccinated against the disease.

“Put it this way: Do I take Tylenol when I have a headache? Yes,” he continued. “Do I know what’s in Tylenol? I’m not sure, Gayle. All I know is my headache has gone away. Do you know what’s in a Big Mac, Gayle? No. All
