This Halloween, you cannot party in Salem unless you have a Negative COVID test.

SALEM, (Chris E. Nelson): If you’re coming to a party in Salem, you might need something like a negative Covid test.

The Salem Board of Health voted for the new mandate on Friday night.

If you are going to a party in Salem, it is good to have a negative Covid test. This will help keep you safe if there are more than 100 people at the party.

People have different opinions about the Order.

“It sounds like it would be hard to get people to come if you’re closing the house. People might not come because of that.” says Trent Vukich, who is visiting from Texas.

But Local other people think it is a good thing.

Peter Tuohy said, “It’s a great idea.” He goes to Salem State.

Tuohy says that is true because so many people come to celebrate.

Mr. Tuohy thinks it is a good idea to be innovative and make sure that people are safe.

Mayor Kim Driscoll also thinks that it is a good idea to have parties with costumes. Her opinion is critical because she is the mayor of Salem.

Driscoll said, “You’re eating and drinking at a party. Your mask slips off. You’re talking to a lot of people. We think that making sure people have a negative test before they can come to the party will stop the spread of this really transmissible Delta variant.”

The mayor says a testing center will be set up downtown. You can get a rapid test and then leave to go to your party.

Within 15 minutes, the results will be out. “Said Mayor”

Some businesses are concerned that the new law about Halloween will make their business worse. But others say it is not hard to find people in Salem on Halloween, and the test might be good for business.

People will feel safer when they go to your party because you know that all people at the party have tested negative.

You can get a test from a doctor three days in advance. No self-tests will be allowed. You can also get one on the day of your event if you want to go that route.

The mandate is in place from October 1st to November 1st.

This Halloween, you cannot party in Salem unless you have a Negative COVID test. Anyone who has the test is required to be tested upon entering Salem. There are even penalties for those who refuse the test. This is a way that the town hopes to avoid a public outbreak of a virus that could be transmitted by contact with a host or through droplets of saliva from coughing and sneezing.

The virus appears to have been transmitted from an infected carrier to a homeless man, which caused him to pass out on the street. The event drew attention from law enforcement officers and emergency responders, which eventually led them to discover this contagious virus. When the police arrived, they found out that the homeless man was, in fact, a member of their department. He had been laid off due to budget cuts and tried to get through his financial problems by living on the streets.

The sample he had is still being examined. It appears, however, that if you are immune, it becomes harder for you to contract the virus. The current theory is that it could be transmitted to someone who does not have immunity and has an open cut or wound, and then they would pass it on like a cold. Due to this potential for transmission and its high mortality rate (60%), Salem decided that everyone entering the city limits must submit to Negative CORONA testing.

The test consists of taking a swab on your inner lip, letting it dry for about 2 minutes, then putting the swab into this sealed bag. The clerk will tell you to watch the monitor for any signs of infection over the next three hours. You cannot leave until green or red (green means negative, red means positive).

If you test negative, then you will be sent on your way. If you have a positive test result or if it turns red after the three hours are up, then you will be taken into custody and quarantined until further notice. Anyone who refuses to test for Negative COVID can be arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

The Salem police ask everyone who enters the city limits to submit their Negative COVID test to the proper authorities. If you refuse to test, you can be arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Offering the Negative COVID test will give management an idea of how many people are either immune to the virus or how many people have been exposed. The more information they have, the better off we will all be.

Remember, you cannot party in Salem unless you have a Negative COVID test.
