This gave Canute a chance to catch power. Thorfinn was sad because he could not get revenge. He lost control and was taken away before he could hurt the new king, Canute.
This event proves to be a major turning point in the manga, which undergoes a time-skip shortly after. Years from now, Thorfinn is sold into the Scandinavian slave trade. He doesn’t have a life’s purpose and he is not happy. Thorfinn is not willing to do any work. Then he meets someone who is like him. They work together and earn their freedom. If the anime follows the same story as the original, then viewers can expect to see these events and more.
